Japan Size Guide
Japanese sizing runs one full size smaller than US across clothing. Shoes use centimeters. Use these guides to convert between Japan, US, EU, and UK sizes.
Japan Shoe Sizes (CM)
Japan shoe sizes equal your foot length in centimeters. A JP 27 means a 27cm foot. The system is unisex — there's no separate men's and women's numbering. Japan also uses width designations (E, EE, EEE, EEEE) but the size number is always the cm measurement.
| JP (CM) | US Women | US Men | EU | UK |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 23 | 6 | — | 36 | 3.5 |
| 24 | 7 | — | 37.5 | 4.5 |
| 25 | 8 | 7 | 39 | 6 |
| 26 | 9 | 8 | 40 | 7 |
| 27 | 10 | 9 | 42 | 8 |
| 28 | 11 | 10 | 43 | 9 |
| 29 | 12 | 11 | 44.5 | 10 |

Japan Clothing Sizes
Japan women's clothing uses the 号 (gō) numbered system: 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 15, 17. Japan 9号 is the standard "medium" — equivalent to a US Small. Men's clothing uses letter sizes (S, M, L, LL) where LL = XXL.
Quick conversion rule
Size up one when converting from Japan to US. Japan S = US XS, Japan M = US S, Japan L = US M, Japan LL = US XL.
Full conversion table →Japan Bra Sizes
Japan writes bra sizes with the cup letter first and band in centimeters — for example, C75 instead of 75C (EU) or 34C (US). Japan uses a straight A-B-C-D-E-F cup progression with no DD or DDD — Japan E = US DD, Japan F = US DDD. Band sizes match EU numbers (65, 70, 75, 80, 85).
